The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is one of Europe’s leading business schools, with very little dependence on government support, and close ties to the business community. About 2,000 students are registered in programs at various levels (excluding executive education programs). SSE research programs rank among the best in the world in Marketing & Strategy, Finance and Economics to name but a few. The Stockholm School of Economics is active in various places such as Tokyo in Japan, Riga in Latvia, St. Petersburg in Russia and Helsinki in Finland. SSE was founded in 1909 on the initiative of Swedish business leaders, and the School has maintained close ties with the business community ever since. Many firms are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to participate in SSE's partnership programs, and SSE has no difficulty in recruiting business leaders for its Board of Directors.
