I chose Notre Dame over Northwestern as the Notre Dame environment had a strong ethics and strategy focus to their curriculum. I also felt a sense of family throughout the interview process which included past alumni in my social network. This family environment was proven throughout the program as my cohort was very close and will remain close post-graduation. Competition was good but not over powering and everyone wanted everyone to be successful. This was a wonderful part of the program that made the tough/stressful times much more rewarding.
I'd like to see a more robust career services offering. I felt what was offered was lackluster at best
It's a faith-based institution. It feels like a business school with a soul with a family like environment. Amazingly strong, fanatical, and robust network. The common thread among the class is a focus on achieving a higher purpose in business.
I might suggest the program be lengthened by three to six months to ensure enough time and resources are dedicated to each and every subject matter. If it is important enough to include in the first place, then it should be given its proper due in terms of time. That comment could apply to specific aspects within certain classes as well as classes in their entirety.
The program had a strong focus on analytic methods. Equally as strong was the focus on giving back for the greater good, being strong ethically, and ways to grow in your personal and professional life. I do not know of any program that looks at developing the person, not just the professional.
The curriculum was standard for everyone with only two election options. Would have enjoyed more specialized curriculum with more options for electives.
I toured all the programs in Chicago--Kellogg, Booth, DePaul, and UIC. No program had the same mystic in regards to community. It was an infectious feeling at the orientation and now as member of the community I find myself a part of something bigger. People love Notre Dame and I think it will serve me well over the course of my career.
The 17 month program is fast and rigorous. Extending to perhaps 19 months and allowing for more lectures might improve format.
The most unique aspects of the EMBA program at the University of Notre Dame are its respect for the Catholic tradition, its emphasis on ethics, and its opportunities for spiritual and religious expression.
The Notre Dame program is as good or better than similar schools (Kellogg, Booth) when is comes to curriculum, quality of professors and students. ND could improve logistics support for EMBA students who are juggling so many balls
