-Leadership is stressed but I felt the curricula should more formally introduce a leadership practicum for students who wish to lead, have them be tested against practical situations and feedback and coaching provided. This would be invaluable particularly in mid-career positions for those who are truly interested in leadership. Some coursework such as statistics should be updated to more truly reflect the use of data in the business today.
-Kellogg needs to re-evaluate its partnership with International schools. The international experience for Kellogg students can still be provided without partnering with students from Schulich, Rencanti, WHU, HKUST and giving all students from those schools the same Kellogg degree.
-Kellogg is making a concerted effort to improve its career management function so that students both receive the education they need to advance with their current employers and to help those who seek transition or entrepreneur tracks. This is taking time, however, as this is a change from the old EMBA model.
-Overall the experience was exceptional. Improvement could be achieved with more out of classroom work assignments, projects involving live businesses, more a traditional MBA approach, if anything at all.
-Many of the cases we worked on throughout the program were relevant to today; however, they were dated. Most were HBR cases, which were great, but I would have been interested in more current events and found them more intriguing to where we are today, especially given our economic situation.
-My global electives were the highlight of my EMBA experience at Kellogg. Through these electives I not only expanded my network of classmates over 3 continents, I experienced culture, business practices, and impact of globalization of our economy first hand. This was an invaluable experience for me as a future global leader.
-The class material and instructors were great. Where I worked during most part of the program unfortunately did not really provide opportunities to apply the skills. So class and material wise, it was really good and would be applicable if your company provides you with an ability to use them well. The biggest thing I felt that was lacking in the class experience improvement was that despite seeing poor leadership and interpersonal skills with large population of the class, no efforts were made by administration to address them. It felt like a high school atmosphere and everything that was preached during week one or two, even when students weren't practicing it and administration was aware, no serious efforts were made to correct the situation or assist the class and students develop the soft skills.
-I was truly impressed with Kellogg's program. It greatly exceeded my expectations. Although the Professors were tremendous, I was shocked at how much I learned from my classmates, as well. Virtually any topic we discussed, there was an expert in the class willing to give their insight.
-We were locked into the same group for two years. I think a more frequent rotation would be helpful.
-I think one of the most memorable part of my two years with Kellogg is the logistical comfort that Kellogg staff tries to provide to all students and their willingness to listen and resolve issues. I would say their effort in fostering interaction and the caliber of students is topnotch. The area to work on would be enhancing the sense of community outside of the school.
-The staff was always there to support our needs and tirelessly worked to make sure we focused on the more important task - study. They were always very supportive and flexible when it came to logistics (a key requirement given the work pressures EMBA students have to deal with).
-Kellogg is a global MBA brand and the school does little to define who and what a Kellogg MBA is thought the program. More moments to explain, teach, and establish what the school is defined as MUST be woven into the curriculum.
-The new dean has a very good strategy in place to transform EMBA program to align with changing economic and world dynamics. Some of the changes are very encouraging and the overall direction is positive.
