Georgia Tech is of the few schools that has a focus on the business of technology. It also has a strong entrepreneurial aspect which gives the right education and tools to launch start-ups or launch a new product in an existing company.
They could break out the international residency into two parts, one of which should be earlier as opposed to one big at the end.
My brain is simply wired differently now. I think four and five steps ahead of everyone else in the room when discussing business challenges that my team is facing. I don't have as much 'from the gut' decision making emphasis as my decisions are better rooted in what I learned during the program. The change to study overseas was fantastic and helped me to realize how amazingly large the world is.
Some professors focus on assigning a lot of work, as opposed to assigning only work necessary to intelligently reinforce concepts covered in class. I think that if the school imposed a limit on "homework hours per credit hour" then it would force instructors to focus on assignments which matter the most. Some assignments seemed like busy work, and some lower credit hour classes consumed way more time than higher credit hour classes. Working full time and going to school full time was the most stressful time of my life, so whatever the school can do to make sure the Executive MBA students aren't spending time on non-critical assignments would help improve the program.
The program was excellent. Career service for EMBA is in its infancy but the team is really working hard to provide a high level of service.
I would suggest making it a 19-month program to eliminate three back-to-back weekends of classes. Also, they could make the break between classes on Saturday longer to allow more prep time for the evening class, group work, presentation practice, reading, and homework.
The "New Venture Project" was a start-up incubator where ideas were born, teams were formed, business plans were developed and ultimately pitched to VC's (judges). If I could get my MBA Entrepreneurship I would. Starting a company was the greatest experienced of my MBA and I continue to run and grow my business well after graduation.
I think most unique aspect of the MBA program was it is connected to Georgia Tech and connected to the vibrant start up community in Atlanta.
