-The MBA program at Paul Merage School of Business, UCI is a very rigorous program since it's entirely based on teamwork and real-time class projects. The coursework is intense, subject specific and very content focused. The class size is an additional advantage since you get personal attention and interaction. Professors, TA's and administrative staff are all easily approachable at all times and are very helpful. Last but not the least the University campus and classrooms/study rooms are technically well networked and the troubleshooting staff is always there for any issue that may arise.
-I think the career center could be better. It feels like the career center tries but they fall short. I understand there are a lot of MBA's out there these days but having an MBA should be a slam-dunk into a good job in my opinion. I don’t get the sense that this is the case. I also feel as if the center requires too much work of the part-timers in order to get in front of the companies they have a relationship with. I have a family and a job. I don’t have time for 5-10 workshops to prepare me for an interview.
-The school cares about your learning experience. The office is quite attentive to the needs of the students. If there is any point where you are not satisfied with the something, they are quick to fix the problem.
-More integration with the Full-Time students and more programs catered towards the schedules of the Part-Time students.
-I believe that UCI's FEMBA program is one of a kind. It is a well-rounded education. The idea of the group or cohort that is required for the first 6 classes is crucial to learning how to work in a group. The residentials that they provide are amazing learning experience as well as bonding with your fellow classmates. The networking possibilities that come from this bonding are what make the MBA so important.
-The administration should be more consistent with their performance throughout our curriculum. We received great support at the beginning, but I didn't get a few email responses toward the end of the program.
-I went for the education but gained an entire network of people. Also, the program had some life changing experiences, including the international classes.
-The only thing I would improve is offer more diverse electives each quarter but I understand that there is a certain demand and scheduling of faculty and courses that needs to be done.
-Overall, my experience at UC Irvine has been great. The quality of the program is increasing every year. It is very structured and the quality of my fellow classmates has been great. The residentials that we went on as a class were amazing and many friends of mine have been in awe of the experiences that we have had. I definitely feel more competent as a business individual now than when I entered the program. I am glad that I enrolled in the program and have been recommending this program to others.
-Merage has a very diverse and bright pool of instructors and I believe that the education offered is superior to that offered at other top 25 schools in the area. However, my experiences have led me to believe that the network of Merage Alumnus is not as strong as the network for, say, Marshall graduates.
-I feel I had a great MBA experience at UCI. The whole culture is group/teamwork based. I feel this is what is necessary to get along in business today. The international resident was unique. Not only do you experience business in a foreign land, you experience it with your group, which gives a different perspective to your experience.
-I would recommend that the school set up more career fairs where the students would have a chance to meet prospective employers.
-The school equips students with a toolbox to succeed in any business environment. It was especially beneficial for those without business undergraduate degrees.
-I feel that the Paul Merage School offers the best value, ROI, and an experience that is unique due to its size, culture, and location.
-Offer a greater variety of classes in the summer to enhance the opportunity of completing the program early.
-UC Irvine embraces their students. Once you're in, you're treated like family. The admin staff takes care of everything for you and the FEMBA program goes the extra mile in helping out their students.
