-IE's international MBA is a truly international program with world-class professors, a student body comprising over 60 nationalities, and a highly interactive and innovative curriculum.
-I applied to IE because it was the only school genuinely entrepreneurial in nature, plus when combined with the quality of teaching, the value for money is unmatched. Also, during interactions with the school before applying, responses were always with a pleasant and interested attitude. Once at the school, all the above expectations were met. I got a great education at a highly ranked school leading to a great job, with an option to set up an already appraised business if I choose with highly capable advisers on tap.
-Madrid is the best city for students, and the school is well positioned in the city's center. Most students come from Latin countries, including Italy and Spain, and they are very open minded and passionate.
-IE Business School differentiates itself from other business schools. Both entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility are alive throughout the program. Competition is certainly lower than at other b-schools, and friendship and openness are real. Many opportunities are given to students for international exchanges, internships, and venture development.
-My impression from campus visits and talking to friends who attended various schools is that the "diversity" of U.S. programs is somewhat of a facade, especially compared to my experience in Europe. I only mention this because of the valuable knowledge and interpersonal skills I gained due to the truly international student body.
-IE Business School's MBAs are pretty good, but the career department of the institution is far from being [at the caliber of a] top 10 MBA program. They have too few personnel, and the offers are not that different from the ones you can find in an Internet job Web site. If you see, for example, IESE´s career department, it seems to be far superior because the top consultancy companies do special recruitment at its campus and have truly good connections with its career department. That is not existent at IE, and it really needs to improve this issue. It is not good when these top-tier companies don´t have completely established recruitment processes with a top-tier school such as IE.
-I would recommend the school if my friends had decided to earn an MBA. The program's duration (14 months) was perfect because two years is too long, and 10 months is too short. The central, city location was great for quality of life and for partners. The quality of the teaching was generally excellent. The diversity of students (nationalities, ages, and backgrounds) makes for a great network.
-IE Business School is not for everyone. I would urge friends with a more entrepreneurial profile, who are interested in sustainability issues, globalism, and soft skills to apply. Some friends definitely would be better off in other schools.
