Comments from Student 1:
My interview for the UW-Madison Evening MBA program was conducted at Grainger Hall by Linda Uitvlugt, the Operations Director, and Amanda Lang a Graduate Advisor. I felt the mood was relaxed, Linda has a great sense of humor and that helped me to feel comfortable. I was surprised that two of the questions were questions from the application essays. Because I had my essays practically memorized, I had to focus so as to not simply regurgitate my essay. I gave more information in the interview and they then asked follow up questions. For example, one essay question that they asked in the interview was to describe a time I led a team, the dynamics of the group, and the results. I talked about a very positive experience. They then asked me to talk about a time I managed a team and did not have such a positive experience. Most of the questions focused on my experience and my goals, why had I decided to enroll, what was I hoping to learn, what are my concerns about returning to school, etc.
