A Talk with Pittsburgh's Admissions Director
An Excerpt from the Q&A
Q: What can an MBA candidate do to prepare for a Katz interview? What kinds of questions are they likely to hear?
A: Over the past five years, we've moved toward interviewing the vast majority of our full-time applicants. The interviews are behaviorally based, and they're blind, meaning the person conducting it uses only the résumé [of the applicant as a reference point].
After the first deadline, we interview by invitation only. We're looking for information on how certain skills -- leadership, communication and business savvy, to name a few -- have been demonstrated. We'll talk about quantitative skills in an interview if the applicant feels that his or her academic background is weak in that area.
