I have the qualities of a true Sagittarius: gregarious, open-minded, logical, and sincere. These attributes serve as the foundation of my character and drive the choices I make. Immigrating to the US at the age of ten presented a difficult set of cultural and social challenges that I overcame by excelling in academics and participating in various group activities. Because I inherently enjoy being around people I am able to integrate myself quickly into any surrounding and am perceptive about people. As a result of my bi-cultural background, I am fascinated with other cultures and I actively seek out people with similar multi-dimensional outlooks and personalities. I travel extensively and continue to pursue a career path that will give me the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people. For example, in my current role at [deleted] I have to be open-minded and bridge the work styles of both my Indian and American colleagues while achieving results. Whether I am dealing with people or solving problems, I break down complex situations into simpler logical issues. In that manner, even if I do not have the specific skill or experience to provide an immediate solution, I am able to develop a logical and methodical process that leads to an appropriate resolution. In addition, I always use sincerity as the barometer for my reasoning, both in personal and professional matters. By understanding the fundamentals of a situation and being honest in my dealings helps me remain steadfast in my arguments. Therefore, I am extremely persuasive and am able to others and usually achieve the desired result. Yet, when I combine honesty with my impatient and outspoken nature, I have been known to be too aggressive and assertive. Recognizing these tendencies, I try to be more respectful of others' opinions and restrained in my zealousness. As I continue to mature and face new challenges, I believe that if I remain earnest and open-minded, I will always be happy and successful.
