Significant changes since 1997
The school added a course in E-Commerce to the second year of the program. The course will be offered for the first time in fall 1999.
In 1998, the school began offering a Health Care Management Option within the EMBA Program to take advantage of demand and Nashville's status as a major center for health care companies and start-ups. The HCM Option consists of four courses that students can elect in the second year of the program (Health Care Organizations and Managed Care, Health Care Policy, Starting New Businesses in Health Care, and the Health Care Strategy Project). These courses will be offered for the first time in the fall of 1999.

Special trips or projects outside of country

The school's nine-day international study trip is part of its Global Management course and takes place in the spring semester of the second year. Last year students went to Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year they'll go to Hong Kong. Students who elect the Health Care Management Option take a Health Care Policy study trip to Washington DC (but have the option to join the international trip at their own expense). There is usually one voluntary trip as well. This year 15 students are going to Cuba.
