Significant changes since 1997

In January the program was expanded to include a weekend format. This choice allows participants to select the program that fits their lifestyle and extends the School's geographic reach.

Classes are currently offered in the School's new McColl Building, a facility that was dedicated in fall 1997. In March 2000, the School will also have use of its executive education centers

The School has joined forces with Mexico's leading technology university to create a Center for Innovation in Learning. Faculty from Kenan-Flagler and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) are collaborating to design new courses and new teaching tools using the most advanced technologies.

The School has added electives in E-commerce and commercialization/business development. Their new Center for Research in E-commerce will focus on how new technology is impacting organizations, industries and markets. The activities of the Center will result in several new elective courses and opportunities for independent study in this area.

Special trips or projects outside of country
Voluntary

The school's EMBA students can participate in five (Asia, South America, South Africa, Eastern Europe & Mexico) 10-14 day global immersion electives. They may also take a Working Spanish or Working Portugese course. These consist of intensive language study and eight immersion days in Mexico or Brazil.
