A course in International Negotiations was added to the summer session.
The study abroad trip has been tentatively scheduled for Asia in May and early June.
Renewed efforts have been made to increase the diversity of the students in relation to academic background or degrees, career or company, ethnic and heritage background.

A two week study abroad session is used as the culmination of the EMIB program. Traditionally the trip has been to Europe. The trip combines classroom lectures with site visits and seminars by government officials, academicians, and business people. Some of past site visits included: EU headquarters in Brussels, Jonkoping International Business School in Jonkoping, Sweden, European headquarters for Marsh-McLenna, Protein Technologies, Siemens AG, Monsanto. Students are required to write a thesis drawing from classroom instruction and study abroad experience. The trip for the class of 2000 and 2001 will be to East Asia including Beijing and Shanghai, China and Seoul Korea.
