Significant changes since 1997
Xavier has enhanced the required international business component from 3 semester hours to 7 semester hours and reduced strategy from 4 semester hours to 3 semester hours.
The school has significantly increased the use of Lotus Notes/Learning Space to enhance students' ability to virtually team outside of the classroom. The students have networked laptops while in the classroom and Internet access via a Notes Domino server from anywhere in the world.
Special trips or projects outside of country
An 11-day foreign field experience is mandatory. Students choose from among three options: London/Munich, Tokyo/Singapore, or Buenos Aires/Sao Paulo. During these trips students visit local companies and hear presentations from executives and government officials. The main deliverable from the trip is a business plan for developing or expanding participants' business operations in their country of interest.
