|
This course is a key component of UT's Lean Enterprise Forum. The program includes applied field research, graduate student interns, lean practitioner conferences and sharing of best practices, and a lean implementation system that provides companies with a fast paced, six-month process for the implementation of lean.
The Lean Enterprise Institute covers implications for the entire organization (marketing, operations, logistics, information systems, customer and supplier interfaces, product development). The first half of the course focuses on operational aspects and the last half focuses on strategic aspects of developing a lean enterprise.

Black Belt Certification is a two-step process that includes coursework and demonstration of mastery of the concepts and principles of process improvement, managing variation, statistical management and quality. The coursework is completed at UT's Center for Executive Education and mastery of the concepts and principles is demonstrated at each candidate's work site. A significant amount of work must be done at the work site to complete a Black Belt Certification Project.
