Class times

Description
|
Mergers and acquisitions are transforming the world of the modern corporation, but they continue to attract controversy about the benefits versus the risks involved. Given the pressures and secrecy surrounding the acquisition, financial and legal considerations often crowd out more complex issues concerning the decision-making and the integration processes. This program combines a strategic and organizational perspective on how to make acquisitions work. It is based on long-term international research by the faculty into the problems of acquisition decision-making and integration, and how experienced acquirers overcome those problems.

Distance courses offered or planned

|
INSEAD is currently testing distance learning technologies as part of a program either: 1) at company-specific programs' level for some content-intensive marketing modules or 2) for open-enrollment programs in which INSEAD has developed an Extranet as a networking enabler and a way to maintain communication going between modules and after the program.

To accomodate for increasing demand in Fontainebleau and to respond to its expansion plans in Asia, INSEAD is involved in major building projects:
In Fontainebleau: the school is building four new amphitheatres (of which two will be ready in the year 2000) and respective meeting rooms for groupwork; In Singapore: the school is building three amphitheaters and corresponding meeting rooms for executive education in the new INSEAD campus to be opened in October 2000.
INSEAD is planning to launch at least two new executive education programs per year and expand the number of sessions offered in Asia. A number of these new programs will leverage the global positioning of INSEAD and have one module held in Fontainebleau and one module held in Singapore.
