Full course title Indiana Partnership for Management Development (IPMD) Type of course General Management
Course length 4 weeks (in 2000 it will become a 2 week program) Class times 2 weeks in May and 2 weeks in July (in 2000 it will become a 2 week program)

Description IPMD is a consortium program comprised of the following member companies: AT&T, Dow AgroSciences, Dow Chemcial, EDS, Lucent Technologies, and Xerox. The program, under the direction of the IPMD Steering Committee, is being redesigned to focused on Leading Enterprise Change which will also include shortening the residential portion of the program from 4 weeks to 2 weeks. The new design will be rolled out in the year 2000.

Description Originating in 1993, the Manager Program is one of the key elements in the Whirlpool Leadership Academy. Themes change annually and projects are required of all participants. Executive Leadership make guest appearances including the CEO, David Whitwam.

Description The Arthur Andersen program is part of a life-long learning strategy for the Philadelphia Metro office. This foundation program focuses on building broad-based business acumen, developing cross-selling abilities, and developing greater practice integration. Plans for the year 2000 include distributing the program among other metro offices.

Description IEP is the core program of the Indiana Forum for Management Development, a consortium of the following firms: Arvin Industries, AT&T, Conseco, GM, Raytheon, Kimball International, Lucent Technologies, Oldn National Bancorp, and State Farm Insurance.

Course length 2 weeks Class times one week in September and one week in October

Description ISP is a consortium of service firms including: Anthem, BAA, Cinergy, EDS, FedEx, and Bank One. The focus of the program is the role of middle managers as agents of change. A new feature of the program this fall will be the roll-out of a Time-Revealed Scenario (TRS) developed in conjunction with Wisdom Tools, an educational software company affliated with Indiana University. The TRS is an online, intersession project that will require collaborative tasks fully facilitated by program faculty.

Description AMLDP is designed to help the next generation of Arvin leadership to develop the new vision for the company in the 21st century. Of special note is the development of a customized strategic planning tool by several of the program faculty which runs on Lotus Notes.

Description The IBM Marketing Management Conference is a unique design of an internal case study built each year by IU faculty to focus on pre-identified business themes for upper level marketing management. Participants use the conference as a spring board into development of their annual marketing plans.

Description The Whirlpool BAT program was developed to meet the needs of business units worldwide in developing more sophisticated business analysis tools. Description GPED is a consortium of both corporations and educational institutions. The member firms include AT&T, EDS, France Telecom, HP,GM, Lucent Technologies, Renault, and State Farm Insurance. The educational partners include CEDEP at INSEAD and City University of Hong Kong. The focus of the program is on developing the skills of contextual analysis requisite for entering new markets.

Distance Learning

Distance courses offered or planned Indiana recently launched a Consortium MBA program in August, 1999 that is comprised of 2 one-week sessions in residence with the rest being delivered online via a combination of Internet and CD-ROM. Other more traditional materials such as course reading packets (books, articles, and assorted hand-outs) are also being used. All subjects traditionaly found in an MBA program are in the program as well. Participants are restricted to those firms who are currently clients of Executive Education (either members of a consortium program or under contract to deliver a custom program).

Comments A new Corporate and Graduate Center will be built at a cost of approximately $35 million. The center will include a new executive education suite of class rooms and administrative offices. Groundbreaking will begin in the fall of 1999 and the center will be open in the fall of 2001.
