Ashridge online provides learning delivered over company intranets. There is a learning infrastructure (including self assessment, links to learning resources, etc.) and 10 corporate learning modules -- these cover topics such as strategic awareness, marketing, IT awareness, project management, and leadership.
The modules combine inputs on theory, reflective and practical exercises, and mini-cases studies. They do not replicate the classroom, but they do aim to engage the learner in using her/his prior experiences and in applying learning. The aim of Ashridge online is to bring quality management education to wider populations than are able to attend B-schools.
Complementary services are available, but Ashridge online also works standalone. The school does not expect it to replace classroom-based programs, but it does expect it to begin to impact on classroom time, by enabling all participants to get to an agreed base level before coming together or in inter-module work.
