Columbia Business School Admissions Tips
Guests: Mary Miller, assistant dean of admissions at Columbia Business School; international student Rui Francisco
Few MBA programs are as coveted, or as selective, as Columbia Business School (Columbia Full-Time MBA Profile), the No. 7-ranked business school in BusinessWeek's 2008 ranking. As assistant dean of admissions, Mary Miller is perhaps one of the few people qualified to answer questions about getting into the program. She'll be doing just that on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. ET, during a live chat event.
Miller, who has 28 years of experience in higher education, joined Columbia in September. She had been the associate dean of the MBA program, managing MBA admissions, student affairs, and career services, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Illinois Full-Time MBA Profile). Before working in Illinois, she served as the associate dean of MBA admissions, student services, and alumni affairs at New York University's Stern School of Business (Stern Full-Time MBA Profile) and as director of undergraduate programs at the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business (Iowa Full-Time MBA Profile).
To participate in the chat, visit the Business Schools homepage on BusinessWeek.com about 10 minutes before the event. There, you'll find a promo for the chat (on the right side of the page, toward the bottom). Click on the promo to enter the Chat Auditorium. You'll be asked to register with the site if you haven't already done so. It's free and should only take a few minutes.
Your host for this event will be Francesca Di Meglio (FrancescaBW), Business Schools community manager and reporter.
Hope to see you there!
If you can't attend a live event, you can e-mail Francesca Di Meglio questions for the guest in advance, and she'll try to pose as many as she can. Please use the subject line "Columbia Chat." Or you may simply read the transcript that we post afterward.
