Comparing Apples to Apples

Apple is threatening to sue a small Canadian business school, claiming that the two companies’ logos have too many similarities, according to a report on CTV British Columbia.

Victoria School of Business and Technology, a small business and computer school in Vancouver Island, has been using an apple logo for about three years. The school claims that their apple design is different than computer giant Apple. Instead of two bumps, the school’s design has three bumps on top and incorporates a design motif featuring a mountain within the apple, the story said.

The school is hoping that Apple will back off from their threat to sue them, the story said. School President Dieter Gerhard is trying to garner public support with a poll he started on their Web site.

The latest figures show 2,094 voters supporting the Victoria School of Business , with 711 voters supporting Apple.

What do you think? Should the Victoria School of Business should be allowed to keep its apple logo?
