According to Inside Higher Ed, Villanova’s undergrad business students are spending the summer reading the same book: “Pour Your Heart Into It: How Starbucks Built A Company One Cup at a Time,” by company founder Howard Schultz. Students will then discuss the book and its lessons during coursework.
So here’s a question, or two. (1) Is Starbucks the best company for these students to be learning about? How about Apple, for instance? or Google? and (2) If all the students at a business school have to read one common book, which one should it be?
