Beating the GMAT

Posted by: Jane Porter on June 18, 2008

Summer is a time to prepare for the GMAT for many. But that doesn’t mean you have to spend your summer days studying alone. Beat the GMAT is an online forum devoted to nearly everything you can think of when it comes to GMAT prep. You can print discount coupons for prep courses, download flashcards posted by a fellow studier, learn about testing locations and local tutors, or get advice from test and b-school experts.

MBA admissions consultant Stacy Blackman and her crew make regular appearances on the site to offer advice and answer questions. Earlier this year Blackman and Beat the GMAT founder Eric Bahn teamed up to offer scholarships and GMAT prep free of charge to a handful of future MBAs.

Happy studies!

I am preparing for the GMAT and want to take it in early September. My goal is the 99th percentile. I purchased the Official Guide, 11th edition, ManhattanGMAT's 8-book series, and Princeton Review's "Cracking the GMAT." I'll be studying without a tutor or course.

Is some material (e.g. Kaplan, Princeton Review, Veritas, Manhattan GMAT) better than others? What is the best way to structure my preparation?
