The Atlanta Council for Higher Education released a study today on the number of degrees awarded in the U.S. 50 largest metropolitan areas. The study lists the overall number of degrees —bachelor’s and higher— awarded, as well as breakdowns by subject areas, such as business. The numbers are for the 2004-2005 academic year, the most recent year full stats are available.
Under “Business, Management and Marketing” the following five metro areas topped the list:
New York (19,583)
Los Angeles (12,905)
The least likely of the 50 metro areas to bump into a business grad? Honors go to Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, where 927 business degrees were awarded in ‘04-‘05.
