STUDENT COMMENTS

The overall education is complete and connects all aspects of the business world from course to course. I feel as though I have a great background understanding of many fields as a result of well-integrated courses.

I feel our Business Program focuses too much on the accounting and finance students in internship opportunities, networking, and job placement. Few firms come on campus to recruit other entry-level positions.

Villanova has a great undergraduate business program! As a senior about to graduate early this December, I am very thankful to Villanova for preparing me for the real world and making college such a great experience in general. Villanova was definitely the right choice for me.

The Dean actually holds office hours and students can come speak to him about improvements or issues they feel are important for VSB.

My experience in the Villanova School of Business has been nothing short of outstanding. The quality of instruction by Villanova professors has been of the highest caliber. My professors have not only helped excel academically but have also been mentors in my personal life and in terms of my future career. They exceed their job requirements and go above and beyond to ensure that every student gains knowledge AND has an enjoyable experience. Personally, I am most impressed by the efforts of career services and the administration in regards to assisting students with finding internships and jobs. They do a terrific job of helping us network and notifying us of many opportunities.

The career services office only helps kids with the highest GPAs, kids with good GPAs. However, below 3.7 area pretty much get hung out to dry.

Teachers are wonderful, especially accounting teachers. I notice that my friends from Boston College, Wharton, Maryland, and others have nowhere near the understanding of accounting that I have. At Villanova, you learn accounting and learn to use it for other areas as well.

I think the business school faculty are for the most part outstanding. There have been a couple exceptions but for the most part, the teachers are very good at engaging the students and motivating us not just to get good grades but to really learn the material, a lot of times through application in projects and simulations.

The business program at Villanova is excellent at bringing firms to campus to recruit students and in building relationships with those firms. However, the jobs are not very diverse. Villanova has relationships with a plethora of accounting and finance companies while we marketing students are somewhat left to fend for ourselves.

Villanova prides itself on preparing its students for the real world. The excellent staff not only gives us the necessary tools, but ensures that students find an appropriate fit to demonstrate these skills in the workplace.

Very good undergraduate experience. The environment can be a little tough to adjust to in the beginning, but the overall experience has allowed me to discover myself, both strengths and weaknesses. I've developed a confidence within myself that I can attribute the university for helping to cultivate, and new experiences and changes are being made constantly.

I think that the School of Business at Villanova University is one of the top undergraduate business schools in the country. A lot of the work is project-based and many of the projects involve teamwork. Teachers make sure we are aware of technological changes. The technology and the facilities of the business school are outstanding.

I can't imagine any other program in the country doing a better job than Villanova did with my career. They were perfect in every way, and only getting better. Dr. Emig should be commended for his work.

VSB is starting to integrate programs like Field Marketing and Public Policy as well as courses in Corporate Social Responsibility. Its unique point of view makes it an ideal place to integrate two disciplines as I have done by seeking two degrees (Marketing and Communication).

The tendency of alums to come back to campus for recruiting or contacting instructors desiring to-be graduates stems from the personal relationships formed in classes but also helps immensely in the search for a job.

I really feel that the Villanova School of Business has dedicated faculty. They are always available for help and discussion outside of class. The classes are fairly small, which also enables students and professor to establish relationships. I also feel that the classes are challenging. We spend a lot of time working in teams and preparing presentations. I am very happy with my academic experience at Villanova.

When I began my internship this summer with Merrill Lynch Investment Banking the majority of other interns were students from Ivy League schools or top 10 business schools. I felt that the business education background from Villanova was equal to if not better than the majority of that at other schools after talking to my peers.

The amount of work for each of my businesses courses is extremely heavy and really gets overwhelming. I have never taken a course outside of the business school that had half the work of that within.

Villanova is really starting to make a name for itself and Wall Street is taking notice. I hope to keep the ball rolling and help future Villanova students to ensure them that through hardwork, they are awarded the same opportunities as I was.

Previously to Dean Danko's arrival, the business school was primarily focused on accounting and finance internship and job placement. However, it has recently been making steps towards facilitating job opportunities for the other concentrations within the college (such as marketing, my major). I feel that the steps they have taken in the recent years will greatly benefit all students of the business school in the near future.
