STUDENT COMMENTS

Junior year I was skeptical about the business program. I wasn't sure if I liked the program. I felt extremely out of place, overworked, and uninterested. However, senior year I have a new appreciation for the business program. My professors are amazing. They work hard to present the material in an interesting way and are overall great people. I feel really lucky that I've been able to have such great professors.

Great program—courses, networking, recruiting companies, job opportunities. And a lot of fun.

The greatest asset of the business program is a commitment of its students to excellence without a sense of entitlement. The men and women of this university achieve excellence not because they've been placed in a situation to succeed or given the keys to excel, but rather because they work and put themselves at a high level of performance.

Kenan-Flagler is ranked highly every year and deserves the credit. The faculty are not only extremely intelligent, but many of them serve as our mentors and who we can keep in touch with at any time. The course work is very challenging, but this is what creates the drive that one sees in the students at Kenan-Flagler.

There is a very professional attitude that pervades Kenan-Flagler, combined with a family and nurturing atmosphere. I think that the school really molds you into a competitive job applicant. Obviously there are strengths, but there could be more focus placed on other areas other than finance and accounting at the undergraduate level.

Undoubtedly the best value for an undergraduate business program in the U.S.

One of the courses that I was required to take that has been extremely beneficial is Business Communication. It focused on presentation skills, using PowerPoint, writing memos and business plans. I even learned how to give an elevator pitch. It has been extremely useful so far and I definitely think it gives KFBS students a competitive advantage in the job market.

The BSBA program has been amazing. When I first applied I had no idea of all that it had to offer. I feel that my education here is truly second to none. The professors are amazing and are really passionate about the subjects they teach, and it clearly shows. With small size of the program, it seems like I’m getting a private school education at a public school price.

Kenan-Flagler does an amazing job of helping to facilitate information sessions and interviews with a very large amoung of well-respected national and international companies. By having so many interview opportunities on campus, we benefit greatly both in improving our interview skills and learning what we like and dislike about potential employers. For this reason, the job search process was the most fulfilling part of my undergraduate experience largely due to how well-prepared I felt due to my education at Kenan-Flagler.

While I had high expectations coming into the UNC Business School, the past four years have greatly surpassed those in many ways. Being an in-state student, the deal we get on such a high-quality education is unbelievable. I'd highly recommend Kenan-Flagler to anyone considering an education in business.

Within the walls of Kenan-Flagler, I question whether I am ready to enter the business world because of the high caliber of students and faculty constantly around me. They are all so talented, driven, and yes, competitive. But talking to people outside the business school and at other schools, I know I am getting the best education in business available. I am confident in the skills I have gained and I know that I will have a strong foundation for whatever I choose to do in life. That makes it all worth it.

The community that the business school possesses has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. It is truly a place where your teacher are your friends and your advisers truly care.

When I came into the business school, I didn't know the first thing about getting a job or interviewing, or how to network. And now, a year later, I've interviewed at five firms, and they've all commented on how well I did during the interview process. That's proof to me that the business school has completely turned me around and helped me prepare for the working world. Also, the exchange programs run through my business school are fantastic. I was in Milan for six months at a business university, and I can't emphasize how important that experience was for me.
