STUDENT COMMENTS
Since I am a dual major in computer science and management, I have been able to see the difference in two very different schools here at RPI. The business program is always responsive to my concerns and has definitely helped me with the skills I needed in order to compete in the job market. These skills including interviewing, résumé writing, and public speaking. Without the business program background I am not sure whether I would have been nearly as competitive in the job market.
The program offered here is great. I have learned so much through our professors' teaching and experience. It is an intergral part of our learning to listen to the experience of our profs in the real world. It incorporates the material taught in class with real-world experience and knowledge, which is what I feel has taught me the most.
Now that I'm a senior and a female, and after talking to friends from other universities, I honestly can say that the education, support, and experience I have gained here has more than prepared me for my future. Compared to other schools, RPI expects a lot from us and we gain a lot from RPI as a whole, much more than other universities.
RPI is a wonderful place for outgoing, intelligent people who love to learn and get involved to become leaders. Assistance in finding internships and co-ops is outstanding. Internships often lead RPI students to full-time job offers and are always a valuable experience.
A lot of great companies come to RPI but these companies don't come to RPI looking for management majors. Most are here to seek out IT majors.
This is a great progaram, the profs are top notch, the school does a lot to get recruiters out to meet with the students, and the technological infrastructure is cutting-edge.
RPI has exceeded my expectations, and the material I've learned so far has already proven invaluable in my current job as a financial analyst.
