Semester abroad programs are available in Antwerp, Beijing (Summer), Florence, London, and Salmanca.

There are numerous short-term programs available in countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America.

There are several exchange programs with leading universities in Australia, England, Japan, Korea, and Spain, among others.

Approximately 11% of business students study abroad, which is twice the JMU percentage.

JMU offers students a variety of rich and rewarding opportunities for volunteer work and community service through its Community Service Learning. Community Service-Learning is a partnership joining JMU students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding communities by identifying and coordinating intentional service opportunities to cultivate social responsibility and life-long learning, thereby fostering a generation of leaders committed to positive social change.

Community Service-Learning (CS-L) coordinates partnerships with over 75 community service agencies to help meet the needs of the community and improve the standard of life in the Shenandoah Valley. CS-L is an active member of community networks such as Healthy Community, Hispanic Services Council, Rockingham County Partners for Student Success, and Valley Volunteer Forum.

The CoB has four professional business fraternities that a student may join. Also, there are a number of other business organizations and clubs, and each of them is associated with one of the majors offered in the CoB.

There are also honor societies for certain majors, as well as a chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business majors, and the highest honor that a business major can receive. Membership in these organizations is by invitation only.

Wireless network is available in main B-school buildings

Technology changes made over the past three years:
CoB classrooms had new data projectors installed; Two largest classrooms have document camera available; CoB building had 802.11b wireless upgraded; Additional electronic resources - such as databases - were acquired and made available to students. Specifically, we have added Compustat, WRDS Platform with CRSP, Journal Citation Reports, Business Source Premier, and BNA Tax Management Portfolios.
