STUDENT COMMENTS

As a double major in History and Finance I feel as though I was able to more robustly develop as an intellectual and an individual. I love that Goizueta's BBA program is a two-year program, which allowed me the flexibility to explore my academic interests. While my experience at Goizueta has been outstanding, I would like to see more of an emphasis on corporate social responsiblity and social entrepreneurship at the undergraduate level.

Overall, I can not express enough how much I have enjoyed my two years at Goizueta Business School. My courses have all challenged me, and I feel extremely prepared to enter into the business world. I've built lasting relationships with my professors and find the administrative staff very helpful.

Emory's business program is growing by leaps and bounds. There is a noticeable difference in the recognition the school gets now from when I first enrolled. The quality of the students and the faculty has always been outstanding, and the fact that we are finally getting recognition is great.

Great school but poor career center. Not enough firms come to campus to recruit. We are undervalued by the college recruiters.

There is a real sense of community among the B-schoolers, which I value (within concentration and class). We are a small community that is both competitive and supportive of one another. Although a number of us are competing for the same jobs we are all extremely helpful and supportive. The alumni also keep in touch with us and give us advice on classes and the recruiting season.

Not enough top firms are recruiting at Emory. The Business School is one of the top programs in the country, but we aren't given the same opportunities as students who graduate from Ivy League schools.

While the employers that the Business School solicits are strong and many, work can be done to diversify the kinds of firms that recruit. Media and entertainment, advocacy groups, and international companies are not stretches of the imagination this day and age.

Very strong recruiting in the Southeast and Atlanta. Recruiting from N.Y. companies is definitely getting better, and as a senior I can see the results of it. However it is still lacking a little bit. I expect it to get stronger in the next few years as more Goizueta students are hired by these companies. Emory has gone from being nonexistent on Wall Street to becoming a major player in just the two years I have been in this program. Banks such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Citigroup heavily recruited here for the first time ever. The senior class is doing outstanding with job placement. There are at least two to five graduating seniors at every bank up and down the Street (Goldman, Merrill Lynch, JPMorgan, Citigroup, Lehman, Morgan Stanley, etc). Emory is about two years away from being a target school for all of Wall Street as banks are slowly making their way down here.

Amazing business school that is often overlooked much the same way Emory is. The quality of the education, campus, and all-around college experience that is provided by Goizueta is unmatched.

Goizueta has dramatically improved its Career Management Center. There is a Professional Career Coaching program that matches students with MBAs in their desired field. The undergraduate program does an excellent job matching juniors who are looking for internships with seniors who have been through the process. The alumni network and upperclassmen were instrumental in helping me land a competitive internship at Lehman Brothers last summer.

I have recently been offered a position with JPMorgan's Investment Banking Financial Institutions Group, which I am planning to accept. This week, I will meet with Citigroup and Bank of America in New York before I make my final decision.

The experience as a whole has been fantastic. I enjoy almost every class that I have taken at the Business School. The professors are engaging and truly promote active learning and thinking that goes beyond the required work. The Career Management Center has also done a phenomenal job. I was able to secure a great internship with their help and, as a result of the skills the school has equipped me with, I was able to excel this summer and receive an offer. I want my future children to have this learning experience.

I have received a job from a very competitive investment bank through the Business School's Career Resources.

Beyond just the classroom experience and learning communications skills and teamwork, I mostly enjoy and take advantage of the opportunities to listen to guest speakers such as Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, and Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, who come to speak to the business school.

I have absolutely no complaints about the business school. I feel that while it is growing in size, they have managed to take in more student input. My classmates are very motivated and bright students, which pushes me to be just as good, if not better, than them. The business school is also infamous for the group projects and presentations that professors always assign, but it really allows us to build teamwork skills and social skills. Although there is some competition, students are generally very helpful with each other. Everyone wants to be at the top, but there is also a feeling of "we are all in this together" that dominates throughout the business school.

Goizueta needs a better advising system. The advisers are full-time deans and some of them even have jobs outside of the university. Emory should hire two to four full-time advisers.

To be perfectly honest, attending the Goizueta Business School is the single best career decision that I've made. The teachers are absolutely incredible for two reasons: They are true experts in their field, and they genuinely care about your success. The classmates that I have are also of the highest caliber. They challenge me every class with their differing but valid opinions. I love it at GBS. High schoolers, if you're interested in business, go to Emory. The network is worth the money.

Overall it was a great experience, the environment not only fostered community involvement and leadership but really prepared me for life in the real world. One thing that stands out above other programs is the level of business communication and public speaking that we are exposed to and work with extensively to prepare us for future jobs.

I have loved everything about my experience at Goizueta, and feel so at home in our little community. The environment is so unique, and the people ( professors, classmates) make you feel as if only your best is good enough.

Not only is the preparation for the real world outstanding, but classes are beginning to already work outside of the classroom with real businesses and real tasks. Whether you are learning from your mistakes or learning real-life lessons and how to deal with people, that is what is essential to any business school, and that is why my friends at other schools are jealous of what I have the opportunity to do at Emory. Where else do powerful CEOs, professional sport team owners, and other key sports business personnel teach a class of only 36 students? Only at Emory, and it doesn't get much better than that.
