STUDENT COMMENTS
I want an international job, and the job search is very difficult because my program doesn't know everything about international job markets and how to help me get one.
Creighton does an excellent job in stressing the importance of being involved outside of the classroom. Most students do, in fact, take part. This gives us real-world experience in working with people, leadership, and being exposed to other students and faculty members with other majors and ideas on how to cooperate and organize functions. This is where Creighton students excel compared with other schools. Experience is what employers seek. Creighton teaches this firsthand.
The greatest part about Creighton's Business program is that faculty and staff truly care about the students. There is no doubt in my mind that each of my professors desires to see me succeed, not only in their class, but in my future profession, as well as in all other aspects of my life. Creighton truly is a family.
There is a serious lack of coursework that involves educating students to do something besides function as business machines. While the school is indeed a business school first, it seriously lacks the coursework that would incorporate the Jesuit values that Creighton is constantly touting.
We have a ton of outside events that we can go to and meet people from different companies. I have had to interview about five people from different companies for different classes and it has allowed me to receive different job offers. All in all, I believe the Creighton Business School has done a great job.
Great teachers, good technology, but I got ripped off. Boring, lame students. The school is so tiny, the town is terribly small. There is no diversity, what little there is is fabricated. The overall feeling is like oatmeal; consistently bland. I've been mugged at gunpoint not far away from campus, my car has been broken into, and I can't walk anywhere without being hit up by vagrants for spare change.
The opportunities are all there at the school, but there is poor communication all around. There should be more information via advertisements for events or programs. Also, I have attempted to communicate with a variety of people about joining clubs and activities and my inquiries were never responded to.
The Creighton Career Center was a great help. I interviewed with several CPA firms that came to campus for recruiting. I just recently accepted a job for a full-time position with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
I definitely feel that the business program needs some major help. More qualified professors or teachers would be better. I don't feel that the amount of money I have paid to attend Creighton has been worth it when evaluating my overall education experience.
