Description: Beginning in 2005/06 Darden's First Year curriculum changed. Students now select elective courses during the 4th quarter. The First Year program electives are extensions of the core courses and all relate to preparing students for summer internships.

Added a Storage Area Network (SAN) and Cluster Technology. Enhanced IT security by upgrading firewalls, virus protection, training and scanning tools. Participated in pilot programs for tablet PC's and mobile computing. Installed a patch management system for server and client operating systems. Implemented host based intrusion detection and system monitoring. Installed spam filtering tools for Email systems. Re-architected Admissions, Registration, Career Services and Alumni systems.
