HISTORICAL EMBA DATA

BEHIND THE RANKINGS:

To better gauge student sentiment over the years, BusinessWeek tracked the answers given by students at each of our Top 25 Executive MBA programs to key questions in our 2001, 2003, and 2005 surveys. No. 24-ranked Vanderbilt moved four spots this year -- in the wrong direction -- underperforming the averages for all surveyed companies in seven questions, including measures of teaching quality and the caliber of students. But since 2001, the program has been making progress on a number of fronts, including professors' ability to draw on student knowledge in class and responsiveness on logistical matters such as travel and lodging.
