2005 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The professors were the cream of the crop. My classmates were of the highest caliber. The work was challenging, intense, and forced me to grow. I feel like after having gone through this program, I can get through anything. Anything.--Strategy

Generally speaking, the instructors were excellent with few exceptions. All were strong academically, while some had less relevant, recent real-world experience to share.--Operations

A few live discussions of case studies, presented by the participants in the study, would have been valuable.--Operations

[Improvements?] Not a big issue, but I suppose low-cost accommodations for out of towners would have been appreciated. I live in Houston and drove to Austin for classes.--Operations

[Corporate sponsors?] There were political issues going on in my workplace. I quit my job half way through the program and started my own company.--Strategy

My company was extremely supportive of my participation in the program, and in fact, paid for it in full. However, there needs to be more integration between what we are learning and how we can apply it directly at work. I was able to do some of this, but I would have preferred a more structured integration.--Operations

Overall, I think the program was strong. Everything can be improved, of course, so I would add a second semester of finance, or at least provide a more easily accessible finance elective. Electives in general were somewhat challenging for out of towners to manage, given that course credits cannot be transferred from elsewhere. Allowing more flexibility in transferring elective credits might be valuable.--Operations

This program has given me the capabilities and the confidence to demand a $150K job. It has changed how I relate to and manage almost every area of my life. I am more disciplined, driven, and intelligent than I have ever been before in my life. If I could get the same return on investment vis-a-vis growth in business acumen and personal skills from where I am now in life after having finished this program, I would easily pay twice as much for this EMBA and enroll tomorrow.--Strategy
