2005 GRADUATE COMMENTS

SMU has a great reputation. As a private university in the Dallas market, the program is well known and has a strong network of graduates in Texas.--Other

SMU's Executive MBA program provided a learning environment that allowed me to immediately apply knowledge gained there to my current job. The competition among the students in testing, case studies, and presentations simulated a real-world work environment. In short, SMU's EMBA program provided me an opportunity to both gain theoretical knowledge and apply it within and outside of the campus environment.--Strategy

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] I thought the faculty was in tune with the real world and were able to customize the class around current events. The only weakness of the faculty was that they often assigned too much work for outside of class.--Strategy

The faculty's strong points include their overall Knowledge, industry experience, desire to network with EMBA students, presentation skills, and their good use of resources. Their weaknesses were that they were sometimes too distracted by extracurricular consulting.--Marketing

[Improvements?] We needed more breaks during the day. It is hard for high-energy people to sit for eight straight hours for two days in a row. Some of the lectures were stretched into four hours when the material could have been covered in two. There was too much filler during some of the classes. I didn't enjoy the speakers who came into class and gave us an infomercial for their company. That is not what we paid for. Don't sell me something during class.--Other

I am pleased with my experience. It was a great education. The Cox EMBA is set up with one study group throughout the program. This was a real benefit because I learned a great deal from my group members and made friends for life.--Operations
