2005 GRADUATE COMMENTS
I learned a lot from the collaborative nature of the program, but I've heard that other programs deliver more substance in areas like finance.--Strategy
When I began the program, my company was going through a cultural change. One of the draws to Pepperdine's program was the first semester that focuses on organizational development. I also like the structure of the class spacing - a full weekend every two weeks. That way, you have a lot of time in one block to really immerse yourself in a subject.--Operations
[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] Strengths of the instructors were their experience and their ability to attract experts from within their network into the classroom. A weakness was coordination; sometimes things didn't go as smoothly as anticipated.--Other
Instructors varied widely in terms of skill level. Some were exceptional, some adequate, and one poor. The class advisor was involved in grading, which was not a good substitute for the review by accomplished faculty.--Strategy
[Improvements?] Some of the material seemed to be a little dated, but the concepts were still applicable. More keynote speakers also would have improved the experience.--Operations
[Changes to program?] The program should put greater emphasis on entrepreneurship and leadership.--Strategy
[Changes to program?] I wish there was more emphasis on international business practices. Perhaps, the program should include two international trips - one to Asia and one to Europe, to contrast business practices between these two regions.--Marketing
I found the class advisor concept truly invaluable. He/she was there to guide us through the program when we had issues or personal life problems. He personally helped me get through some tough situations at work.--Operations
