BEHIND THE RANKINGS:

To better gauge student sentiment over the years, BusinessWeek tracked the answers given by students at each of our Top 25 Executive MBA programs to key questions in our 2001, 2003, and 2005 surveys. An unranked school in 2003, Notre Dame catapulted into the rankings this year at No. 20 by outperforming the average for all surveyed schools on nine of the 11 questions. Particularly impressive was its showing on a measure of how well the program handles logistical matters such as travel and accommodations. Since 2001, Notre Dame has made progress on four measures of teaching quality, caliber of students, and overall student satisfaction, among other things. Now if students would only hit the books more often. They now spend about four hours less per week studying then they did in 2003.
