2005 GRADUATE COMMENTS

I knew I would gain a good quantitive education at the University of Michigan. But beyond that, the collaborative experience with individuals in the program, and the intense focus on strategic and creative thinking was above any expectation. While I considered myself relatively savvy regarding business before the program, the program opened my eyes to so many new ideas, for both small and large businesses. Also, the breadth of experience in the class and range of ages, businesses, and functional backgrounds created an enriching environment.--Other

[Faculty strengths/weaknesses?] The EMBA program draws the best professors, since they all appreciate the students' higher level of student experience and age. This experience translates into high-level conversations within the classes and often results in added learning due to the debate and references on actual experiences. I did not see weaknesses in the professors. What I saw was an extremely well-organized group of professors that complemented each other with the classes that make up the program.--Other

As far as strengths, all professors had a tremendous amount of experience in academia as well as real-world applications, such as serving on corporate boards, consulting, and conducting business research. The only weakness was the limited amount of class time afforded the EMBA format.--Finance

[Improvements?] There was too much male dominance and automotive industry examples and discussion.--Other

[Changes to program?] They need to create more time for students to interact with each other and faculty. Including Thursday nights as part of the program will help greatly. They should also tailor the career services to executives. I also would appreciate more networking opportunities with other alumni.--Other

[Changes to program?] Maybe more one-on-one personal development analysis and recommendations. Otherwise, the experience was dead on.--Marketing

In my opinion, the management of the Michigan EMBA program and overall administration of the program is top-notch. The management and staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating and responsive to the needs of the students. Their dedication to the program really comes through clearly, and the personal touch makes a huge difference to the students.--Other
