HISTORICAL EMBA DATA

BEHIND THE RANKINGS:

To better gauge student sentiment over the years, BusinessWeek tracked the answers given by students at each of our Top 25 Executive MBA programs to key questions in our 2001, 2003, and 2005 surveys. For No. 18-ranked Purdue, 2005 wasn't a particularly great year relative to its rivals. It only beat the average for all surveyed schools on five of the 11 questions. High levels of satisfaction on logistics were offset by very low levels on a key measure of teaching quality -- instructors' ability to draw on students knowledge in class. However, 2005 was a bounce-back year for Purdue. On seven measures, it regained most or all of the ground it lost in 2003, returning student satisfaction to 2001 levels. Especially impressive was its showing on overall student satisfaction, which was up more than 30 points from 2003.
