2005 GRADUATE COMMENTS
This is a case where the program as a whole was greater than the sum of the parts. I learned from my peers as well as the faculty.--Operations
Duke, and the professors in the Executive MBA program, provided an excellent learning environment in which the professors provide academic material with the insight of their professional experiences. The diversity and professionalism of the students in the program allowed us to challenge or support the material being learned.--Accounting
[Suggestions?] Some classes did not have enough content to fill an entire term. A few classes could have been condensed without diluting the quality of the learning. This would have allowed additional core classes such as leadership and ethics (which were addressed, but not as formally as other management skills).--Marketing
Teaching leadership is difficult but important. Our program focused more on using quantitative analysis in many different functions well. However, leadership skills were considered part of an elective instead of being woven throughout the courses.--Marketing
My EMBA program is so far my greatest career achievement. Halfway into my program I relocated to the Middle East. Every two weeks I flew back to the U.S. to attend my classes because I knew completing the program would propel my career, and I was immediately applying what I learned in class to my job. The Fuqua program is rigorous and attracts top talent. I have been invited to interview at the top management consulting firms purely because I am a Fuqua graduate.--Marketing
