CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] I feel I am better prepared to succeed in the business world, especially in an enterprenurial setting, than before the MBA. I feel that my friends and colleagues could also benefit from the education, as I did.--Entrepreneurship

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] It was the greatest two years of my life. I have made numerous lifelong friends and contacts. The networking possibilities far exceeded my expectations and the level of education I received was unimaginable.--Finance

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] Although the cost of the MBA is quite significant, I believe it was worth it because the MBA has allowed me to make a total career switch. Before the MBA, I worked in manufacturing as an engineer for a medium-sized Canadian company and the MBA has given me the opportunity to jump into marketing for one of the biggest marketing companies in the world (Procter & Gamble).--Marketing

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] Schulich Business School is very progressive, has excellent facilities, is flexible in times and locations for classes, and has lower tuition than its close competitors. I was very satisfied with the education I received and the quality of the faculty.--Marketing

The consulting work really taught me how to apply the theory that was taught in the classes I had taken. It also helped me to develop and enhance my research skills. Although the amount of work required was much, much more than I had anticipated I learned a tremendous amount from the faculty and my team members.--Nonprofit

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] It was the pinnacle of the program. It was excellent all around and forced us to integrate from the many disciplines and to truly learn the meaning of team work.--Finance

Many of the courses required an analysis or consulting project for an existing company, and these projects allowed for actual hands on experience in applying the theory learned in class to the real world. I feel that this was invaluable to the learning experience.--Finance

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] It provided me the platform to engage owner and entrepreneurs and provide them with suggestions while gaining an undersdtanding of how they conduct business on a daily basis.--Not Available

It is my sincere belief that the Schulich School of Business offers the best rounded MBA program in Canada. If I planned on pursuing finance I would likely have chosen the Rothman school, and conversely, if I wanted to be a consultant I would have chosen Ivey because of its case base format. However, Schulich provides students the ability to obtain a very well-rounded business education while creating a network of likeminded, sociable, and determined individuals.--Not Available

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The MBA exposes you to current best business practices and could change your view of the world.--Accounting

I had the privilege of being part of the York Consultng Group (YCG), a student-run management-consulting firm. Through YCG's projects I had the chance to apply some of the concepts gained diring the MBA program and also I had the opportunty to deal with real companies.--Consulting

The Strategy 601 course, which everyone has to take, is an excellent opportunity to develop an all encompassing strategic process methodology. I will be looking back on that project for years to come. Also, there were other smaller opportunities to work with real organizations.--Finance
