CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS
The curriculum can be quite challenging and rewarding. There are excellent opportunities for academic growth. It is relatively easy to change career focus, if one is so inclined, and the faculty is generally quite supportive. The strong academics accompany a vibrant and active social scene at the school.--Finance
I was born and grew up in Taiwan, and I know the MBA education enhanced my international perspective as well as my professionalism. Anderson school has a great faculty and serves as a wonderful, practical business environment. I'll definitely urge people I know to enroll in the program.--Consulting
I think UCLA offers one of the best values for your money. The program is outstanding, but is also reasonably priced. I was able to graduate without loans.--Marketing
The breadth and depth of the education was tremendous. I entered shool at age 30 and had modest expectations. After two years, I feel truly enriched and would encourage anyone that has a passion for business to enroll. The school offers an impressive variety of courses in several disciplines and is well suited for both entrepreneurs seeking to get a broad business base and those that would like to specialize.--Entrepreneurship
UCLA Anderson has a great program for entrepreneurs. The contacts you will make and the network you can build is unbelievable. The professors are helpful, challenging, and dedicated to the learning process.--Entrepreneurship
B-School is not for everyone. If you know you are going into the same field you would be leaving to go to B-school, and you are currently pretty successful and on a good path, you may want to reconsider. I came to B-school to see what else was out there and I was able to do exactly that.--Entrepreneurship
I was considering working in professional sports and was able to work directly with several executives at the National Basketball Association. The experience allowed me to understand one of the most prominent sports brands in the world, while having a voice in making strategic decisions.--Marketing
I worked on building an international startup company. The company recruited and certified nurses in India and then placed these nurses in U.S. hospitals. This experience enhanced my personal entrepreneurial skills because I realized how easy it is to make something happen, even internationally. Also, I loved working with my team, which brought together a group with a diverse range of experiences. It was fun to brainstorm new and fresh ideas, prioritize those ideas, and then make some ideas come to life.--Marketing
I got to participate in a field study project for Anschutz Entertainment Group for its MLS soccer team, the L.A. Galaxy. Since my goal is to pursue a career in sports entertainment, it was an excellent experience. We were able to help give AEG some tangible advice, and actually wound up winning a $5,000 award for best field-study project from Anderson.--Entrepreneurship
Had a great opportunity to work with ESPN on a very interesting strategy project where I put to use many of the frameworks and skill-sets I have developed through my coursework at Anderson.--Finance
In my opinion, the past rankings of UCLA don't reflect the true quality of education, faculty, and students at UCLA. My experience with students from other schools during my exchange programs showed me that UCLA Anderson is much better compared to its peers than the rankings show.--Consulting
I can't emphasize how special a program Anderson is for students interested in venture capital. In addition to offering fantastic entrepreneurship and finance classes, Anderson offers experiential fellowships in venture capital that place you in a summer internship and facilitate networking. It can lead to a full-time position in venture capital. Five Anderson alums from the Class of 2003 ended up in venture capital. I defy any B-school to match those figures.--Venture Capital/Private Equity
Before entering b-school, I was not sure I was making the right decision. When I started, I was married with two kids (we now have three), and I was interested in starting my own business. I was not sure the two-year sacrifice was going to be worth the trouble. However, the experience far exceeded any expectations I had at the beginning. During my two years at Anderson, I have gained knowledge, friendships and contacts, and most importantly, the confidence needed to accomplish my goals in business and life.--Entrepreneurship
The faculty and staff were overwhelmingly responsive to concerns of the students. Courses were added to accomodate the interests of the students to ensure that we could get everything we desired out of the program. The people at Anderson, both students and faculty, were instrumental in making the program what it is. My only regret is that I did not have enough time to take advantage of everything that the program had to offer.--Consulting
When students arrive at Anderson, they encounter a true community. There is a sincere atmosphere of teamwork, wherein each colleague is willing to help others. Everyone works hard and plays hard. Anderson students take their coursework seriously, but also take time out to enjoy the two-year program and gain new experiences. An MBA program is what you make of it -- and Anderson does not disappoint.--Finance
The field study program exposed me to an industry in which I had no previous experience. I was able to expand my consulting skills and hone my other skills before returning to the workforce full-time. It gave me an opportunity to identify potential business solutions for a small, growing business.--Finance
I feel UCLA Anderson has extremely increased my marketability and has provided me the tools and contacts to put me where I am today and will allow me to reach the goals that I have for the future.--Operations
