CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] It is a great program in a great city.--Finance
I would recommend the Freeman School to anyone looking for an MBA program with friendly students who don't have the typical cut-throat B-school mentality, a solid and occasionally outstanding faculty, and a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. The New Orleans location doesn't hurt, either.--Marketing
Tulane is excellent for those who want to study finance and accounting, but poor for those who want to study marketing, information technology, and human-resource management.--Accounting
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] Receiving an MBA from Tulane is an experience that I will always hold dear. The faculty, students, guest speakers, alumni, and classes were above any of my expectations.--Finance
I did a semester abroad in Copenhagen and was put through an internship course there. The experience of working with another culture, with a lot of responsibility, in a field that was totally new to me, was a wonderful learning experience.--Finance
Tulane offers a program called Burkenroad reports which entails equity analysis for small-cap, publicly traded companies located throughout the Gulf Coast. Small teams of students offer stock coverage and investment reports for both a mutual fund run by Hancock bank as well as for individual investors. In many cases, this is the only investement coverage that these companies receive. This coursework provides an outstanding practical learning experience for the students, and I personally benefitted greatly by participating.--Entrepreneurship
I was a member and officer of the Freeman Consulting Group. My team was assigned to a start-up project. The business was a restaurant, and we offered consulting services such as the development of a business plan, a marketing plan, and financial forecasts for the new company.--Entrepreneurship
Based on my experience, I would classify Tulane's Freeman School as an up-and-coming program. The school is making a concerted effort to improve the faculty in certain departments, with strategy and marketing currently receiving a lot of attention. The finance department is, and has historically been, top-notch.--Marketing
Even though Tulane is a good school with a number of great professors and students, the school should do much more to attract great nonfinance professors, and improve its Career Development Center and administration. Moreover, I don't think my friends would like the New Orleans lifestyle.--Not Available
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] A Freeman MBA is valuable for the very useful knowledge that can be gained, the contacts that one can make, and the respect that the school has earned in the national and international business communities.--Entrepreneurship
