CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS
The IMBA program at USC is a unique one. I would not recommend it to someone who is married or has children because of the foreign travel requirements and long internship. I generally think the foreign internship is not very useful, as most companies do not give enough responsibility to students over the summer. However, a number of the younger, less experienced students gained some valuable experience.--Marketing
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] This school is for someone who wants to learn another language and gain experience working overseas. I had great teachers -- very accesible and interesting -- and small classes. If a student wants to get a job that includes international living/travel, this school has lots of connections. I am probably biased, but through the school, I landed a job where I'll be traveling all over the world 60% of the time. This is what I've always wanted.--Not Available
For students interested in an international business education, the Moore School delivers. Thanks to the required international internship, the classroom was quite vibrant and always relevant. The schools top professers taught in the program and were always available outside of classroom hours for formal or informal discussion. It's a very nurturing environment.--Marketing
The Small Business Management course consisted of a single consulting project for a small business. Our team chose to do a market consulting study for a Brazilian producer of organic food products. The study enhanced my understanding of U.S. import and export laws, procedures, and regulations, and gave me firsthand experience in advising a foreign company on how to do business in the United States.--Not Available
I participated as a member of a four-person group in a consulting assignment for a local miniature-golf company in which we spent a semester investigating the issue at hand and then creating a solution to the owner's concerns. It was extremely time-consuming, however, the project greatly added to the awareness of the value of team-work and personal interaction while enabling us to apply business knowledge in a real-world situation.--Finance
I think that the Moore School of Business is one of the best values on the market for an MBA program. As I have told numerous prospective students when they visited our campus, going to the Vienna program and South Carolina was the best decision I have made to date.--Marketing
While this school remains somewhat unknown, I beleive that it is one of the most undervalued programs in the United States. It is still extremely affordable and offers the chance for real, practical overseas business experience during a six-month internship as well as the chance to learn a new foreign language. Very few other MBA programs are able to offer that. I firmly believe that nowadays a regular MBA is rapidly becoming too much of a commodity and that all students need to seek additional ways to differentiate themselves from the masses. This program, though not as old or as well-funded as other schools, offers an equal or higher quality, more relevant education for less money. Sounds like a no-brainer, right?--Nonprofit
Almost every elective class in the second year consisted of a consulting project with a company outside of the B-school. I participated in projects with Microsoft, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, Mead-Westvaco, Amsterdam-Saur, etc.--Marketing
[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I had the opportunity to learn a new field. My experience on school-based consulting projects allowed me to explore my interests and has changed my career goals for the better.--Consulting
The program is of high quality and produces well-rounded students who have a lot to offer. If the administration can improve its placement efforts and response to student concerns, I would say it could be on of the top MBA programs in the world.--Marketing
The Moore school is affordable as the school is very generous with grants, scholarships, fellowships, work studies, etc.--Marketing
