CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The great thing about Pepperdine is that each person gets individualized attention from the faculty and staff. This allows for professors to hold each individual to a higher standard, which allows for a better learning environment.--Marketing

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] I have grown in my understanding about the world, and the program has challenged me to become a more ethical and well-rounded person. My interpersonal skills, experience in working in teams, and presentation skills have greatly increased.--Finance

The Pepperdine program offers many opportunities for post graduation. One of the primary reasons to attend is the small classroom setting and access to high quality professors.--Finance

We performed a consulting project for a government-affiliated, nonprofit job center. I had never worked with a nonprofit company before, and I learned the differences in motivations, goals, and expectations of nonprofit versus for-profit companies.--Consulting

The project allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to a real business situation. I was able to actually see how the classes I was taking increased my knowledge and skills.--Marketing

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I participated in two such opportunities. In teams of about four to five students, we worked on consulting projects with nonprofit organizations. These entities required a variety of assistance ranging from marketing issues to funding and business-plan writing. I learned to work in a team for a real company. I learned to use classroom theory for practical applciations and meet with working professionals who dealt with real-life problems. The experience of consulting with companies while in business school is one element that sets the Graziadio school apart from many other schools.--Finance

I view Pepperdine as an emerging gem of a business school. New first-rate facilities along with an excellent exchange program and engaging faculty who make the classroom educational, as well as challenging, stimulating, and enjoyable, have the school well-positioned for the future.--Finance

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The program opened my eyes to many contacts and business opportunies that I would never have been exposed to at my last job. I participated in a study abroad program that provided the idea for the company that I started after graduation.--Entrepreneurship

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The program gives you a good perspective of the business climate and allows you to develop the tools that will aid you in accelerating your career in the future.--Finance

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] The consulting projects were conducted before there was really adequate classroom instruction on methodology, project planning, etc., and although this material was covered later, it would have been more useful if taught earlier in the program.--Finance

Pepperdine is relatively young as a business school, and the full-time program is much smaller than the part-time. Therefore, its connection to the business community is somewhat weaker than older schools. However, the international programs are a clear strength, and the program has been steadily improving over the last decade.--Finance
