CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The MBA was a major eye opener for me. I truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know everyone student in my class. Being in such a small program, I got to learn the motivation for everyone and why the MBA was important. It made me realize that an MBA would change my life because I learned alot of intangible skills including networking, leadership, and negotiation. I feel anyone would benefit. It was a very positive experience and a lot of fun.--Operations
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] I believe that the Fisher MBA really added value to my career. I have been very successful here during these two years. I would definitely urge my friends to pursue the same MBA at Fisher. In fact I have already recommended a friend of mine to join Fisher.--Consulting
[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The program is up and coming, affordable, attracts smart people, and has generally good faculty (especially for the core classes). The program is also good in particular fields such as operations and finance.--Consulting
[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I was able to learn the ins and outs of small business management with our local client, and professors were helpful in the learning process.--Finance
I ran the CPSL -- Center for Professional Services Leadership -- during its initial year. It's a student-run consulting organization where we undertake projects for corporate clients for a small fee. To this end, we pitched projects to clients, completed work, handled billing, etc. It was a great experience. I essentially ran a business while I was a full-time student and participating in numerous other extracurricular activities.--Finance
In my final quarter, I worked for an appliance manufacturer in an applied field studies course. It was a breath of fresh air to finally use skills in a real-world project. It is interesting to see how the lack of knowledge of limitations of research can guide a company toward false conclusions regarding market potential.--Marketing
In my final quarter, I particiapted in a consulting engagement with a for-profit specialty hospital for my "Business in Healthcare" course. This experience not only gave me real-world experience in operations, which is a field I did not study or have any experience in, but also exposed me to a new side of the healthcare business. I was also able to build strong relationships with the executive team that works for a surgical management company and some of the local doctors on the board. These relationships will serve very valuable in securing additional consulting work in the future.--Not Available
The career-services office is excellent. The staff went out of its way to help me find employment. It was amazing. The school has great connections. In addition, my classmates are great.--Operations
The Fisher MBA program provided me with a diverse and competitive atmosphere that helped me improve my leadership and technical skills. Additionally, it gave me access to the top faculty in the United States, which I know will aid me in my post-MBA professional career.--Consulting
While there were some bumps along the road, the overall experience was great. I would recommend Fisher to any student searching for a smaller MBA program.--Marketing
[Did consulting project enhance learning?] So much time in any B-school is spent analyzing cases. It is refreshing to have the opportunity to work with real businesses on real-time problems.--Marketing
Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University is a hidden jewel. As an international student, I was impressed with everything this Midwest school had to offer. The only downside is that it is geographically far from the largest job markets. Students need to travel to find jobs.--Finance
