CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS
The George Washington University's MBA Program is in the same league as many of the other higher ranking schools -- strong focus on teamwork, similar core courses, same case studies, competent faculty. One of the best things about the school is that it regularly has distinguished business and government leaders on campus given its close proximity to the State Department and Capitol Hill.--Operations
The program at GW is worth the investment. The professors are great and the class size is small, so you get to know all your classmates and can develop a better relationship with faculty.--Marketing
I was an undergraduate at the same institution and had a number of repeat courses and professors. I was also unsure that the rigor of the program was what it should have been. Much has been learned, but good grades were not hard to get.--Not Available
I feel that GW provided me with a very well-rounded business education. I was especially impressed with the quality of the instructors in any of the courses that were international in nature, which in business school is numerous. Having a very diverse international student body was also a great experience.--Marketing
The GW program was a supportive program because of its design with the cohort structure and the involvement of the faculty and administration.--Consulting
[Did consulting project enhance learning?] The project was relevant to class topics and helped simulate a real work experience.--Marketing
I took a class called "Strategic Entrepreneurship" where we had mini-consulting courses each week after meeting with the CEO of start ups / small businesses. It was great to get their feedback on what was useful information, and it helped me gain confidence and the ability to go into consulting professionally.--Consulting
Overall, the George Washington University MBA program was a tremendous experience. A new business school is being built and it should add value to an already excellent program.--Not Available
The George Washington University offers an extremely diverse assortment of concentrations, in addition to solid core course requirements. This combination, enhanced by superb faculty and full-time MBA program management, made the overall MBA experience extremely worthwhile.--Not Available
Using a competition-oriented team approach, we completed a marketing plan for a technology company (ERP software). This evolution was worthwhile from two perspectives. First, it solidified academic concepts in the context of real-world application. Second, it encouraged and fostered team learning in terms of both working in a team environment and collectively as the plan was pulled together. This evolution, early in the MBA program, provided invaluable tools that we were able to utilize in later coursework.--Not Available
I definitely feel that George Washington University's MBA program is on the rise. With new facilities under construction, new faculty being brought in, and a career center with new leadership, I truly believe that the school is headed in the right direction. Perfectly positioned in a major metropolitan area, GW takes advantage of its setting by integrating real-world examples and applications in its curriculum. There are numerous opportunities to capitalize on the business, political, and international environment in Washington, D.C. There is a heavy emphasis on teamwork, and an overall atmosphere of cooperation over individual competition. Frequent extracurriculur activities, such as speakers, site visits, and social events, serve to enhance the overall experience.--Consulting
