CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] Discovering cultures from 50 different countries at a professional and personal level is something you most likely will not experience anywhere else.--Not Available

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The MBA program is good, but I feel that the location is a disadvantage especially for non-Europeans. The European economy is not doing so well, and an MBA is not very well recognized in and around The Netherlands. This would have been a fantastic program had it been based in the United Kingdom, where the economy is bigger and provides more opportunities especially to people who don't speak any other European language apart from English. There are severe language barriers all over Europe and restrictions on work. So unless one is a European and speaks the language of the country where you intend to work in Europe, things will be difficult.--Not Available

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] RSM is an outstanding program to develop an international business perspective and global contacts. Furthermore, the level of teamwork and friendliness far exceeded any other program I considered.--Consulting

We examined the success story of Vodafone as our consulting project for our Strategy class in the first year. It was a rewarding experience. We worked hard but we learned a lot. Later that year I had a good discussion with the CEO of Vodafone in Greece regarding this consulting project, and he seemed thoroughly impressed and satisfied with my knowledge of the company and the various future strategic recommendations and suggestions we made for the firm.--Investment Banking

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I had a couple of experiences apart from the internship. They were valuable in providing me with an insight into actual application of the frameworks in an actual business.--Not Available

Managing and leading the Consulting Club was an excellent way of testing newly gained skills in a still-safe environment. It also provided excellent networking opportunities and the possibility of additional revenue during program.--Consulting

We developed a strategic plan for Sony PlayStation in light of competition from Microsoft. I still use the templates our group developed in my current consulting job.--Consulting

My classmates at RSM were superb. However, the best part of the MBA experience for me was the exchange program. I went on exchange to the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. The location was excellent, along with the course work.--Finance

In terms of value, international relevance, and quality, I found RSM to be the best of all the schools that I researched. (I researched more than 30 schools that specialize in international business.) The atmosphere was also much more positive than at other schools that I visited. Teamwork and network-building were emphasized, and competition among classmates was intense, but did not occur at the expense of others' academic and social perfomance. This created a dynamic and supportive environment to reach my career goals.--Consulting

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] The interaction with the senior management of the firms we consulted stimulated our work and provided us with significant insight into current managerial issues. The projects are an excellent lever in the transition back into the workforce.--Entrepreneurship

The project I developed during my time at Fortis Bank has enhanced my professional profile. My interaction with top investment bankers and my exposure in different committees and meetings have allowed me to support my personal confidence and provided me with new techniques regarding corporate finance activities.--Finance

Rotterdam School of Management deserves to be one of the highest-ranked MBA programs in the world with its potential, not only coming from its diversity but also from the high quality of its diverse student body.--Marketing

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The experience I had at RSM was special. The international exposure, quality of the students, and cultural experiences are something I can never replace.--Investment Banking
