CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] CWRU offered many electives directly applicable to what I will be doing after school and gave me the proper tools to succeed in the work force.--Finance

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The classes, especially the entrepreneurship classes, were right on target with providing me the analytical and system thinking tools to equip me with my startup. Weatherhead School of Management provides entrepreneurship tools to equip business savvy individuals in an ever-changing city, state, region, and global economy.--Entrepreneurship

CASE is a small program that lives up to its name and offers students the ability to get involved in the Weatherhead and Northeast Ohio community. The faculty and staff are great people and the relationships developed between these two groups at CASE are outstanding. This is why I would recommend CASE to family and friends.--Finance

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] I feel prepared for a new career path, and my MBA experiece has been a catalyst for my professional life.--Operations

The program provided all the basics skills necessary to work in a higher position at a company. In addition, I also learned many of the "softer skills" required to differentiate oneself in today's workplace. The environement at my school was both challenging and nurturing: I was given the opportunity to explore new areas of interest and fine tune skills I already posessed.--Finance

I would encourage friends and colleagues to enroll in the best MBA program to which they can be accepted. There is a clear advantage to going to one of the top 10 or 20 schools in the country -- not because of the education, but because of the reputation and prestige that pay dividends long after graduation.--Not Available

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I was involved in a manufacturing company that was facing the pressures of globalization. Personally, I learned how to be both a leader and follower within my student team. We also learned to understand the parameters of the company we were working with to come up with solutions that could actually be implemented in the near future.--Not Available

I had an unbelievable opportunity to work with senior executives at a Fortune 500 company in the area. The consulting project brought together everything we had been studying and gave us an opportunity to work in a team on our own in a real-world situation. It was a chance to prove ourselves and it worked out fantastically. The team coaches on the school side were phenomenal and helped with guidance in tricky situations.--Not Available

This project allowed the group and me to apply what we had learned in the classroom to real problems faced by an equities research firm. Not only did this help me to understand an industry and how their problems are solved at the senior management level (C.O.B., President, & C.E.O.), but we internally practiced our management of group dynamics in a relatively sterile environment.--Investment Banking

Weatherhead is a wonderful school, but needs to work on bringing more recruiters to campus. The turnout was low this year, and not enough emphasis was put on small businesses. The education was superb, and the professors were of the highest caliber, so it was definitely worth the time and money.--Accounting

The school is very diverse, which creates an outstanding environment for learning about different cultures and provides the students with exposure to international business ideas, different thinking styles, and behaviors. I also loved the fact that the school is rather small, and the atmosphere is just wonderful -- so much passion involved!--Consulting

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] The MBA experience is for life. The relationships and networking and inernational exposure are things that no salary can pay. You learn life skills here.--Marketing

Almost everybody in the class had to do a six-credit-hour consulting project in teams of four. It was a great learning experience as we had to work through tight deadlines. It was exciting to apply the newly learned concepts into reality.--Finance

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] It was my first consulting project. It taught me how to approach a problem in any company and how to manage people during a period of changes.--Finance
