CLASS OF 2004 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The MBA increased my breadth of knowledge about the business field. It has been an excellent two-year invetsment of time and money for me. I am sure that going forward in my career, I will be able to approach business situations from a global point of view rather than a local one.--Operations

This school is a good fit for people who want to specialize. I would highly recommend it for people who want to specialize. I would advise people looking for a general MBA to consider alternatives.--Operations

[Recommend program to friends/colleagues?] If they had the chance to go to a school with more recognition, I would urge them to go there simply because it would be easier to find a job. I think a lot of the top 50 MBA programs probably have more or less the same content, and I don't think there is much disparity in the quality of the teachers.--Operations

My MBA was a unique experiece because it permitted me to study both in Europe and the United States. I obtained two master's degrees and learned from the diverse enviroment I encountered and the excellent academic and practical training I received.--Marketing

I thought the MBA program at the WP Carey School of Business was an excellent experience at a very competitive cost. I learned from established professors, the students were very capable, and the curriculum was challenging. Overall, it was a high-quality experience.--Not Available

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] The project was a fantastic opportunity to utilize a little bit of everything that was learned in the program. Although we had worked in teams all along, this was one of the most demanding team experiences because it dealt with real issues in a real business. This experience was my favorite part of the program, and I feel that it helped me to understand how to implement much of the knowledge I gained over the past two years.--Not Available

We worked on an applied project with IBM Integrated Supply Chain. It greatly enhanced our understanding of quality management in the high-tech industry.--Operations

I was on a team that conducted research for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics concerning industry standards for corporate partnerships in college athletics, as well as some best practices. The research enhanced my knowledge of negotiations, alliances, and sponsorship service. In addition, we were able to recommend new marketing strategies to the industry based on our coursework. The industry was very receptive to our research and our suggestions.--Nonprofit

I worked for one of the top computer hardware firms in the world today. The project for which I consulted provided me with an end-to-end view of how to improve the quality of a product through enhanced visibility and traceablity across its supply chain.--Operations

The MBA has the potential to be in the top 20 very soon. The staff, the teachers and the students are united to support this goal. This MBA was a fantastic human experience and the best deal I ever made: I doubled my salary.--Finance

One of the best aspects of the W.P. Carey MBA is the "Exec Is In" program, a weekly opportunity to meet one-on-one with mostly retired and some current senior executives living in the Pheonix area. Where else do you have the opportunity to sit down once a week and get mentored by a retired CEO of a Fortune 100 company? The time these people give to the program is incredible.--Finance

The biggest reason I chose Arizona State University was because it was the only top-30 caliber MBA program with a concentration in sports business. While my expectations of my concentration were met and sometimes surpassed, I was even more impressed with the quality of the marketing education. I already have had potential employers express that they are impressed with the nature and scope of marketing-related projects I completed. I know that my revenue generation and e-commerce classes will enhance my career.--Nonprofit

The first year of the program was fantastic. As a chemistry undergrad who spent my pre-MBA career in research and IT roles in the pharmaceutical industry, the immersion in business thought processes was immensely useful in changing my outlook on business problems and strategies.--Marketing

I truly believe that the Carey school is up and coming. If the quality of the entering students can be improved, then the quality of the out going students will start to impress a broader audience of recruiters.--Not Available

The program is differentiated by several "specializations." The quality of education is improving at an increasing rate. Balanced with tuition and cost of living, this B-school provides a fantastic return on investment, and is a diamond in the rough.--Marketing

[Did consulting project enhance learning?] I participated in two different projects. I think they allow you to greatly improve your management and communication skills and fulfill customer needs within a period of time.--Operations
