Technology changes made over the past three years:
The school has introduced a student notebook computer program through the IBM Thinkpad University Program. It has also implemented a WiFi (IEEE 80211.b) network for the building and implemented a school-wide Web-based course management system based on Blackboard software. It has installed a distance learning studio, and included research database support and with the acquisition of additional databases and a subscription to the Wharton Research Database Service. The school has upgraded several servers and added several new servers. It has converted email and calendaring systems to Groupwise and set up electronic message boards for student in the atrium. It has also deployed many notebook/desktop computers - in all classrooms, in many student work areas, and for dozens of staff and faculty members.
The school has designed state-of-the-art technology facilities for the new building, which the school will move into in the fall of 2004. It has upgraded most older computers to a Windows XP operating system, and set up a service to provide students with easy access to Microsoft software. In addition, it has implemented a Web and database server for instructional use.
