CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

The MBA Program at Ivey changed my life. I increased my analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems tremendously. More importantly, Ivey provided me with an environment where I increased my self-confidence and my comfort with taking initiative for activities. I have advanced my leadership skills and achieved great success in the extracurricular initiatives I took on. Going to Ivey was the best thing that I ever did with my life and I would and do urge all my friends to consider going there too. -- Biotechnology

The MBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business has provided me with the knowledge and experience to allow me to pursue any opportunity in a multitude of fields. My eyes have been opened to a world of opportunity and I have been provided with the skills and knowledge to take advantage of them. I believe that this is something that can benefit many business people, if they were only aware of the value of the knowledge that they could gain. -- Marketing

The quality of the professors and the teaching method (cases) are excellent. Based on the relative pricing to U.S. schools, it is also very affordable, yet still offers all the chances of the big name U.S. schools. Also, I believe the program does focus on helping all students become better managers and business leaders. -- Consulting

The Ivey education is challenging but worth it! I would highly recommend it to people who are looking for a first class general management education. A focus on cases is key! -- Consulting

The Ivey experience far exceeded the lost wages, tuition, and additional expenses. The people you meet from around the world contribute greatly to your learning experience. These friendships will last the rest of your life. Compared to the cost of going to a U.S. business school, Ivey cannot be beat. -- Investment Banking

Doing an MBA at Ivey opened numerous doors that I would not have otherwise had access to. Most of the top companies from North America recruited on campus. It also gave me an opportunity to participate in a program that allowed me to teach business at a university in the Former Soviet Union. -- Interactive Entertainment

The Ivey program is a unique experience that fosters a very supportive yet dynamic atmosphere. The personal challenge of the program and growth that is enabled during these two years is something I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. -- Information Technology

World class MBA program that is a value for the money. I have seen the curriculum of other B-schools and met their graduates. Ivey grads definitely stand out because of high reliance on case based teaching, which encourages grads to be good communicators and think on their feet. -- Marketing

Ivey's general management and case method makes the school unique. Not only do you learn the theoretical, but you also apply these to real world situations on an everyday basis. By taking the general management perspective it adds to the learning experience. Additionally, since each case is considered to be a business meeting, real world experiences are shared by all members of the class. -- Investment Management

Ivey is a school focused on developing general management skills, which is the focus I was looking for. Although these skills are based on a solid footing of analytical tools, the school is not suitable for individuals seeking a deep understanding of quantitative tools. I would recommend that anyone considering Ivey should keep this in mind. -- Finance

While employment prospects are grim right now, and the high paying consulting and banking jobs are not that appealing beyond the pay, there's a lot more to gain than simply a career. In terms of personal development and future career prospects, I cannot say enough on how valuable the program is. -- Operations

Ivey is about teaching. The faculty here strikes a great balance between teaching and research. Unlike at other business schools, professors here cannot hide in their offices. -- Entrepreneurship
