CLASS OF 2002 GRADUATE COMMENTS

I was overwhelmed with the intelligence and dedication of my peers. The relationships and experiences I gained from my classmates have been invaluable. I have had a very rewarding experience at Owen and would encourage anyone considering returning to school to pursue their MBA to consider Owen. -- Finance

Vanderbilt has a very congenial student body that is uncharacteristic of most schools. Although the atmosphere is not competitive, the students will push you to present your best work. I am very satisfied with the friendships that I have made and believe that they will continue well into the future. The professors also have a solid command and understanding of the subject matter. The door is always open if further help is needed. Lastly, Vanderbilt carries a strong name in the south and extends its reputation as a solid school in New York to California. -- Investment Banking

I felt that I was not a number at Owen. I knew most of the faculty and staff by the end of my two years in the program. I highly value the time I spent outside of the classroom in discussions with my professors. Several of them have become good friends who I will continue to call on for advice and insight. -- Finance

The caliber of professors and students at Owen is superb. The professors engage in cutting edge research while still finding time to focus on students and learning. Owen provides the flexibility and course offerings to help you reach both your professional and educational goals. -- Consulting

I really enjoyed my experience at Owen. I think that the school has a great community atmosphere and provides a great experience both academically and socially. The administration is extremely responsive to students, and students feel as though the program is centered on them. -- Marketing

The OGSM MBA program has a flexibility that allows you to tailor your MBA according to what you learn as you go. I started in the finance track and ended up pursuing strategy and marketing. The level of interaction with faculty is intense. I have developed relationships with my professors that transcended the classroom. -- Strategic Planning

Owen is still growing and struggling with its national rankings, but it is a superb program and is taking great strides to becoming a top 15 program which I believe it can be in the years to come. The professors and student body here reflect an ideal combination of real-world smarts, analytical and theoretical understanding, and social aptitude. -- Consulting

Owen is a very open and constructive environment. The coursework and professors are very talented. The students, faculty, and staff are accessible to one another. It's a casual learning environment. While everyone strives to succeed, there is still a supportive and cooperative atmosphere. I truly enjoyed my time here. -- Anonymous

Vanderbilt's flexible curriculum, diverse community, supportive faculty, and small program size provided an optimum experience to broaden my business perspectives, hone management skills, and build a life-long career network. -- Marketing

I enjoyed the personal nature of the program. For me, its small size was an absolute benefit. None of the large programs would have enabled me to fully capture the benefits of removing myself from the workforce for 20 months. -- Finance

Not only was the curriculum excellent, but also I found that I met people who are truly energized and passionate about learning. It creates a very stimulating environment where students are encouraged to ask difficult questions and challenge conventional wisdom. But just as important as the educational benefit is the strength of the friendships that I developed during my two years at Vanderbilt. -- Marketing
